JPMorgan Chase signs OpenAI deal for Codex and cybersecurity models - MLQ.ai
JPMorgan Chase has signed a strategic partnership with OpenAI to use the AI lab's coding agent Codex and specialized cybersecurity models, OpenAI president Greg Brockman announced at The Wall Street Journal's Tech conference on November 4.
The bank will utilize OpenAI's Codex coding agent and cybersecurity models internally, with cyber access provided through OpenAI's Daybreak program. This initiative gives approved organizations access to advanced cybersecurity capabilities, security tools, partners and support for protecting their systems.
Financial terms undisclosed
Neither company has disclosed financial terms, contract value or duration of the agreement. Brockman described the partnership as a way 'to explore how advanced AI can support their enterprise: helping engineers build, security teams defend, and employees and customers benefit from more capable AI.'
Existing AI collaborations
JPMorgan has used OpenAI models since 2024 through LLM Suite, its internal AI platform, which also offers models from Anthropic. The bank has worked with Anthropic since April 2026 on Project Glasswing, a defensive cybersecurity effort, which continues alongside the new OpenAI agreement.
