Blockstream CEO Adam Back predicts institutional investors will drive Bitcoin's next rally as investment expands beyond retail buyers to professional asset managers.

Blockstream Chief Executive Officer Adam Back has stated that institutional investors could be the key driver behind Bitcoin's next significant rally. According to Back, Bitcoin investment has progressively evolved from early retail investors mining and buying tokens directly to the introduction of spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Professional Asset Managers

The next phase of Bitcoin investment, according to Back, will involve broader participation from professional asset managers. He noted that more investors will gain indirect exposure to Bitcoin through mutual funds, pension funds, and insurance products. Companies holding Bitcoin as a treasury asset could also contribute to this increased investment.

Some large investment banks are already recommending that 2% to 4% of investment portfolios be allocated to Bitcoin, he added.

Current Market Status

Despite these recommendations, Back emphasized that institutional participation in the Bitcoin market has yet to begin in earnest. This suggests significant growth potential as more traditional financial institutions increase their exposure to cryptocurrency.
