An updated plugin manager has been released for Lossless Scaling with the new NVIDIA DLSS 5. - GameGPU
Independent developer FriedSnowman has released an updated Addon Manager for Lossless Scaling REDUX, featuring a rewritten DLSSNR02 plugin that supports NVIDIA's new DLSS 5 technology.
The updated tool replaces the original Echo-Storm repository and introduces a completely rearchitected DLSSNR02 plugin for NVIDIA's DLSS 5 (3D-Guided Neural Rendering). This generative technology creates photorealistic visual effects in real-time by running on top of standard graphics processing.
Technical Improvements
Previous implementations suffered from visual artifacts, ghosting during camera movement, displaced details on new surfaces, and incorrect color rendering with bright highlights. The new version terminates neural rendering before the LSFG algorithm begins, intercepting frame processing via WGC system screen capture to avoid applying neural networks to artificially generated frames.
Motion vector calculation now uses NVIDIA's Optical Flow hardware, which compares current and previous original frames at the model's working resolution. This previously prevented the plugin from running on AMD and Intel graphics cards. The compositor employs shaders from OptiScaler with color correction algorithms from RenoDX.
System Requirements
The new DLSS 5 plugin requires Lossless Scaling 3.2.2.0, Windows 10 or 11, an NVIDIA RTX graphics card, and the custom nvngx_dlssnr.dll library version 310.8.0.0 or 310.9.16.0 with Fast B profile support. Due to processing delays, input latency increases and frame timing may become uneven with sudden mouse movements.
A dual-GPU configuration is no longer supported.
Additional Features
The standalone plugin manager combines NVIDIA DLSS up to versions 4 and 4.5, AMD FSR 3.1.4 and 4.1.1b, and Intel XeSS 2.0.2 in a single window. It includes a neural network resolution scaling slider and a performance monitoring panel with detailed GPU and CPU timings to reduce video memory load.
