Waveshare has introduced the ESP32-S31-Zero, a compact development board featuring a powerful ESP32-S31 dual-core RISC-V processor with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

The ESP32-S31-Zero follows the form factor of Waveshare's previous 'Zero' boards, including the ESP32-C6-Zero-B, RA4M1-Zero, and ESP32-S3-Zero. Despite its small size, the board maintains a USB-C port for power and programming, along with eighteen through and castellated holes for GPIO and power signals.

Enhanced Performance

The board features a more powerful ESP32-S31 dual-core RISC-V MCU clocked at up to 320 MHz, supporting 2.4 GHz WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and 802.15.4 connectivity. It includes up to 32MB on-chip PSRAM and a 16MB or 32MB SPI flash chip, providing ample memory for complex applications.

Expansion Capabilities

Recognizing the ESP32-S31's numerous I/O options, Waveshare incorporated a 40-pin high-density connector supporting LCD, touchscreen, SD card, USB 2.0, and additional GPIOs. This makes the board suitable for a wide range of embedded and IoT projects requiring both processing power and connectivity.
