Nintendo’s latest Zelda remake already circulating online as a Switch 2 ROM
Nintendo's remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been leaked online just hours after its release on the Switch 2, with hackers sharing copies of the game through jailbreak software.
The leak reportedly includes both the original 1.0.0 release and its 1.1.1 update, which weighs 23 GB. The breach comes despite Nintendo's efforts to protect its new title, with the leak occurring through a combination of jailbreak software and game dumping tools.
Early access
Physical copies of the game had already reached buyers' homes several days before the official release date, allowing hackers to access the remake early. Some gamers even shared videos of themselves playing the game on social media as early as November 1.
Technical limitations
Despite the leak, the game remains largely unplayable on PC emulators. Users have reported various technical issues including washed-out visuals, black screens, terrain bleeding through objects, and an inability to progress past the title screen.
