Pump.fun co-founder Alon Cohen posts three BD roles, with prediction markets now on the list
Pump.fun is hiring three business development staff with compensation ranging from $200,000 to $1 million, marking its first public focus on prediction markets.
The Solana memecoin launchpad is reportedly offering between $200,000 and $1 million to dealmakers focused on perps, prediction markets, and its trading terminal. Pump.fun wants to be more than the place where memecoins are born, with co-founder Alon Cohen announcing on X that the platform is hiring three business development staff to bring traders into these new product lines.
Strategic Expansion
The most interesting word in that list is "prediction." This announcement marks the first public mention of prediction markets as a strategic focus for the app. The recruitment is being run by Baton Corporation, the development company behind Pump.fun, with each role mapping to a specific product line.
One role covers perpetual futures, which are derivatives that let traders bet on an asset's price with leverage without an expiry date. A second role targets prediction markets where users trade on the outcome of real-world events, while the third focuses on the platform's trading terminal.
Lucrative Positions
The hiring bar is specific, requiring candidates to have at least two years of experience leading business development in crypto or related platforms. New York is the preferred location for the roles, though remote applicants can still be considered if their qualifications are exceptional.
The pay is where things get eye-catching. Compensation for these positions reportedly ranges from $200,000 to $1 million. Performance-based bonuses could sit on top of that.
Platform Evolution
This is not the first lavish job posting from the Pump.fun camp this year. Earlier in 2026, the company recruited for a Growth Marketing Lead with a stated range of $400,000 to $1 million. The new BD roles align with Baton Corporation's broader focus on social features and courting high-volume traders and influencers.
Pump.fun launched on January 19, 2024, and quickly became a notable venue for creating and trading tokens on Solana. Its simplicity allowed anyone to spin up a token in minutes and start trading it immediately, making the platform central to the Solana memecoin scene.
Each new product targets different trader habits. Perps serve those wanting leverage and directional bets, prediction markets serve those wagering on events, and the trading terminal caters to those seeking speed and tools. For traders, more choice within one platform could be convenient, but combining leveraged products with speculative memecoins requires caution as leverage amplifies losses as readily as gains.
