AAEON Releases PICO-PTH4, World’s Smallest Intel Core Ultra Series 3-Powered Board - TimesTech
AAEON has released the PICO-PTH4, the world's first Pico-ITX single-board computer powered by Intel's new Core Ultra Series 3 Processor platform.
Measuring just 100mm x 72mm, the PICO-PTH4 packs impressive computing power into its tiny frame. It offers 25W CPUs, with the flagship being the 16-core, 16-thread Intel Core Ultra X7 Processor 358H, delivering 180 platform TOPS through its combination of integrated Intel Arc B390 GPU, CPU, and NPU.
The board supports up to 32GB of LPDDR5X system memory (up to 7,467 MT/s) and includes an M.2 2280 M-Key with PCIe Gen 5 for NVMe storage. Despite its size, it maintains features crucial for space-constrained robotics and intelligent automation applications.
Industrial Design
For connectivity, the PICO-PTH4 provides dual 2.5GbE ports (one with PXE support) and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports for camera and sensor connections. Its robust internal I/O includes a 20-pin COM header with BIOS-configurable RS-232/422/485 interfaces, 4-bit GPIO, and a 5-pin header with SMBus, I2C, and timed GPIO options.
The PICO-PTH4 is designed to meet the demands of modern industrial environments, particularly space-constrained robotics and intelligent automation applications.
Expansion Options
Unlike other AAEON Pico-ITX boards, the PICO-PTH4 omits the SATA slot in favor of an M.2 2280 M-Key (PCIe Gen 5 x4) and an FPC connector with PCIe Gen 3 x4. It also includes an M.2 2230 E-Key slot (PCIe Gen 4) for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth expansion.
The board operates in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 70°C and offers either a 2-pin phoenix or lockable DC jack power connector. It's now in mass production and available through the AAEON eShop and website contact form.
