Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong, the global face of the city's pro-democracy movement, has been sentenced to ten years in prison on a national security charge of colluding with foreign forces.
The sentencing comes amid ongoing tensions between Hong Kong authorities and pro-democracy advocates. Wong had become internationally recognized for his role in leading protests that called for greater democratic freedoms in the semi-autonomous Chinese city.
