Moriusa lays out why it chose Soneium ahead of Mofees NFT bridge - eGamers.io
Japanese character IP Moriusa has chosen Soneium as its new blockchain home, becoming the first IP Token on the network and planning to migrate its Mofees NFT collection.
The Japanese character IP Moriusa has officially moved to Soneium's blockchain platform, becoming the first IP Token on the network. The purple rabbit character, created by Nanamori and produced by Super State Holdings, explained its decision through a post on X, highlighting how its plans align with Soneium's vision for building an onchain entertainment ecosystem around tokenized IP.
Moriusa is a beloved Japanese IP growing across Web2 and Web3, with Mofees at the heart of that journey.
NFT Bridge Migration
The migration process involves transferring Moriusa's Mofees NFT collection through an NFT bridge accessible at bridge.yay.space/moriusa. The Soneium Portal page for Moriusa describes the Mofees as a group of Moriusas together, each with its own mood, moment and outfit. The portal states, "Moriusa and the Mofees are now hopping onto the blockchain."
The bridge page currently provides no information about which blockchain the NFTs are leaving or how the transfer process will work. Visitors are instead directed to "stay tuned for an announcement on Thursday, November 5." As of November 4, no further details about the migration had been published.
Tokenized IP Model
Soneium announced its Tokenized IP model on October 26, when it named Moriusa as its first IP Token. The model includes three components: an IP Registry for ownership records, an IP Graph for tracking relationships between original and derivative works, and an Execution Layer using smart contracts for royalties, revenue splits and licensing payments.
The framework allows IP Tokens to be either fungible or collectible, with IP Vaults providing "access to royalty backed assets" and Tokenized IP Bonds backed by entertainment businesses. Soneium is also working with DayOneDream, the K-pop IP holder managing artists including BTOB and LEE CHAE YEON, to put "concert business royalties" onchain as Tokenized IP Bonds.
Future Plans
Soneium has also announced plans for a native $SONEIUM ecosystem token meant to "align creators, IP owners, builders, fans and investors with the growth of the Soneium economy." However, the network clarified that "no $SONEIUM token has been issued," with details "to be announced at a later date." No launch date or tokenomics have been shared.
Moriusa's move to Soneium builds on its existing Web2 popularity, having already developed a following on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and X, including a sold-out Tokyo Dome event. Soneium, co-developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs and Startale, runs on the OP Stack. When announcing its pivot, Yuji Kumagai, head of Soneium Protocol, stated: "Entertainment starts with creators. Today, Soneium enters a new stage built to stand behind them."
