LXQt 2.5 Released With Enhanced QTerminal, Removing The Final LXDE Dependency
LXQt 2.5 has been released as the newest feature update to this lightweight, Qt6-based desktop environment, targeting Qt 6.10 and newer.
LXQt 2.5 now targets the Qt 6.10 toolkit and newer. On the dependency side, LXQt no longer depends on menu-cache as its last LXDE dependency. LXQt was born out of the combination of the Razor-qt and LXDE projects.
Finally with LXQt 2.5, no more LXDE dependencies remain now that LXQt has its own replacement that is better and faster. This marks a significant milestone in the project's development.
Enhanced Terminal Features
QTerminal and the QTermWidget have seen a bulk of the work in LXQt 2.5 with now supporting background image modes, a visual bell, silence notification, Shift+click selection, and other improvements as well as bug fixes.
File Manager Improvements
With this new version, PCManFM-Qt now supports incremental listing for search results but is disabled by default. With this incremental search it's easy to stop the search process should you already find your desired result(s).
