Iranian lawmakers have warned they will fire missiles at European countries hosting US military bases if America uses them against Iran, escalating tensions amid renewed confrontation threats.

The threats were made by Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani, a member of parliament's National Security Committee, in an interview with Euronews. He specifically mentioned Italy and Germany as potential targets if their bases are used by the US against Iran.

In previous conflicts, Iran refrained from targeting European countries, but Ardestani stated this time would be different. "In the two previous wars we did not do this, but this time we will not let Europe's assistance to America for an attack on Iran go without consequence," he said.

New Iranian Strategy

Another committee member, Fada Hossein Maleki, revealed that Iran had developed a new approach for any renewed conflict that would surprise both the US and European nations. The IRGC also issued a statement on Wednesday, the anniversary of the 1979 US embassy seizure in Tehran, promising "an immediate, effective response without geographical limits to every level and type of threat."

If America uses its bases in Europe, including in Italy and Germany, Iran's missiles will be fired towards Europe.

European Targets

Government supporters hung a banner outside the German embassy in Tehran with a quote from Mohsen Rezaei warning "Europe will pay the price for supporting Israel." The banner was reportedly placed by student Basij members from the University of Tehran.

Fars news agency reported that Iran had warned Germany its military assets across the region would be treated as "legitimate defensive targets" if Berlin entered open military confrontation with Iran. Tehran has already summoned Germany's ambassador over Berlin's support for Israel.

Kayhan newspaper, published under the supervision of a representative of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, wrote that Iran's potential targets could extend to "the heart of Europe," citing orders for a "military response without geographical limits."

US Response

Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf welcomed the Republicans' defeat in Tuesday's US congressional elections, writing that the American people had "said no to war" and that Iran supported that message. He warned that if the US ignored public opinion, it would face "a nightmare."

When asked about taking a tougher line against Iran, US President Donald Trump gave an ambiguous answer, saying he would examine the matter and act if needed. Meanwhile, Rezaei stated on X that the US response to Iran's demands had been "not convincing," and Washington would need to meet Iran's seven conditions in full before reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
