AI engineer Divyansh Agrawal has developed Qwenputer, an experimental AI model that includes a 32-bit RISC-V CPU compiled directly into its weights.

The experimental model, described as a blend of the stock Qwen 3.5 4B AI LLM with a 32-bit RISC-V CPU, can run processor arithmetic operations and execute C and MicroPython code using its own weights as RAM. This eliminates the need for external runtime environments or tool use.

In a demonstration of its capabilities, Qwenputer successfully ran the classic game DOOM, albeit at a very slow pace. The achievement showcases how AI models can now incorporate computational hardware directly into their architecture rather than relying on external processing resources.
