About 21 prop trading firms ended partnerships with Prop Firm Match after the platform admitted clicks on firm pages opened partner sites through its affiliate links.

About 21 prop trading firms have terminated partnerships with Prop Firm Match since Friday, 30 October, after the platform acknowledged that clicks on firm profiles and promo codes opened partner websites through its affiliate links. The comparison platform, which had 38 prop firm partners as of press time, admitted the redirect practice and promised to review the matter with each partner.

The exits raise questions about how the firms paying commissions didn't detect the practice sooner. A source close to the matter said misattributed sales looked identical to legitimate affiliate referrals because tracking cookies were triggered before users committed to purchases. With firms spending heavily on marketing, such cases blended into normal affiliate traffic.

Platform's Response

Prop Firm Match issued a statement on X saying: "This should not have happened. We take full responsibility for it." The company said it has contacted each partner to review the matter and reconcile any inaccuracies. The platform, which launched three years ago, claimed to have had over 25 million website visits and reached over 370,000 members.

We have reached out to each of our partners to review this together and reconcile any inaccuracies. We respect any decisions firms have made based on this. We truly appreciate the partners and traders who value the relationship we have built together over the years.

Technical Details

A video posted by Trader Kane showed that clicking a firm profile or copy code button on Prop Firm Match opened the requested page in a new tab while the original tab went through an affiliate link. An analysis of the platform's JavaScript by Alex Firdaus found the copy code function sending the original tab to affiliate URLs in every capture from November 2025 to October 2026.

The analysis noted the code fired once per firm per day, tracked in the browser's local storage, which would explain why repeat tests appeared normal. Firdaus called this a "forced click" rather than classic cookie stuffing, where an affiliate cookie is set without any click.

Partner Reactions

Apex Trader Funding, Tradeify, and Goat Funded Trader all terminated relationships with Prop Firm Match. FundingPips' CEO Khaled revealed they caught the cookie practices in August, took action, and saw their ranking drop from first to tenth. They forfeited the month's commissions and plan to pursue financial claims.

Effective immediately @PropFirmMatch affiliate partnership is terminated. All their commissions for the month are forfeited, and financial claims are going to be pursued. We have caught the cookies practices in August, took actions on it and Our rank dropped from Nr. 1 best seller to Nr.10.

Industry Impact

Commercial terms between Prop Firm Match and its partners varied. Some firms paid commission on challenges sold through affiliate links, while others like Topstep paid $10,000 monthly for a listing. Topstep's CEO Michael Patak noted they got no affiliate code and their best ranking was sixth place.

Three days after the scandal surfaced, major brands including FTMO, T5ers, FundedNext, and E8 Markets remained listed on the platform. Prop Firm Match previously delisted firms including PipFarm, True Forex Funds, and The Funded Trader for compliance reasons.
