'Squad' rakes in record $2.35M while slamming the door on cop donations
A joint fundraising committee for four progressive House Democrats has raised a record $2.35 million this election cycle while explicitly barring donations from the Fraternal Order of Police.
The fundraising committee, known as the Squad Victory Fund, has collected $2,351,388.02 in the 2025-2026 election cycle, marking its highest total to date according to federal filings. The fund serves as a shared vehicle for the four lawmakers and their allied political groups to collect and distribute campaign contributions.
Exclusion Policy
The fund's donor rules explicitly prohibit contributions from the Fraternal Order of Police, the nation's largest police organization. It also bars donations from corporations, federal lobbyists, and fossil fuel interests, though the disclosure does not explain the specific reasoning behind excluding the FOP.
Fund Distribution
The Squad Victory Fund includes four allied PACs, with contributions generally divided equally among the eight participants. Each receives 12.5% of donations, though donors may designate their contributions for a specific participant. Through March 31, the fund had spent about $1.6 million and reported roughly $68,000 in cash on hand.
Contributions to the fund are not tax-deductible, according to the disclosure. The committee remains active, indicating these figures may change as the election cycle progresses.
