Dell expands cybersecurity portfolio with new AI, identity and quantum-resilience capabilities - The Times of India
Dell Technologies has announced a major expansion of its cybersecurity portfolio, unveiling new services to protect AI environments, identity systems and infrastructure from sophisticated cyber threats.
The company said the new offerings address emerging attack surfaces that many existing resilience strategies were not designed to handle. According to Dell Technologies, modern cyberattacks are no longer limited to data theft and destruction. Instead, attackers are increasingly targeting systems that organisations rely on to operate, including AI environments, identity platforms and critical infrastructure.
Dell highlighted concerns around "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks, where encrypted data stolen today could potentially be decrypted by future quantum computers. The company noted that AI deployments have become attractive targets because they concentrate valuable data while introducing new attack surfaces.
AI security services
Dell introduced new services focused on strengthening cybersecurity and operational resilience for AI workloads. The new Security Hardening for Dell AI Factory service helps organisations securely deploy Dell AI Factory infrastructure by assessing security controls across physical, virtual and application layers.
Dell experts identify configuration risks and provide recommendations to reduce exposure. Meanwhile, the Resilience Operations for AI service helps organisations identify their most critical AI applications and create recovery policies and procedures that can be used in the event of disruptions.
Dell has also expanded the capabilities of PowerProtect AI Assistant, adding an enhanced conversational interface for cyber resilience management. The platform now includes proactive daily risk briefings and human-in-the-loop approval workflows to help organisations identify issues earlier and accelerate response efforts.
Identity resilience capabilities
Recognising that identity platforms are increasingly being targeted by cybercriminals, Dell introduced new identity resilience capabilities within its PowerProtect portfolio. The new features allow organisations to restore trusted copies of identity systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Okta following a cyber incident.
The capabilities are designed to help companies recover access controls more quickly instead of manually rebuilding identity infrastructure after an attack.
Dell also launched Dell Managed Detection and Response for Identity, a 24x7 monitoring and response service that focuses on identity threats including compromised accounts, suspicious authentication activity and misuse of privileged access.
Quantum-safe security
Dell is strengthening cyber resilience across its storage portfolio through deeper integration between PowerProtect and Dell PowerScale. The integration will enable automated orchestration of retention-locked snapshots to support faster recovery following an attack or outage.
To help customers prepare for future quantum-computing threats, Dell announced that the latest version of Dell PowerStore software introduces quantum-safe encryption for data in transit over Fibre Channel connectivity. When combined with supported Dell PowerEdge servers and configurations, the technology can help protect against future quantum-enabled decryption attacks.
Dell is also introducing a Post-Quantum Readiness Assessment service that identifies cryptographic vulnerabilities across IT environments, prioritises migration efforts and provides organisations with a ranked view of potential risks.
Availability timeline
PowerProtect identity resilience capabilities, Dell Managed Detection and Response for Identity, Resilience Operations for AI and the expanded PowerProtect AI Assistant capabilities are available now. Security Hardening for AI Factory is expected to become available in October 2026, while the latest PowerStore software and Post-Quantum Readiness Assessment are scheduled for release in November 2026.
The new PowerProtect and PowerScale snapshot orchestration integration is expected to be available in December 2026.
