Prop Firm Match Faces “Affiliate Tracking Allegations”; Topstep, Apex, Tradeify and Goat Funded Cut Ties
Prop Firm Match, a proprietary trading firm comparison platform, has been accused of triggering affiliate links through internal website clicks, prompting several major firms to terminate their relationships with the platform.
The allegations came to light on Thursday when trader Kane posted a video on X, claiming that Prop Firm Match redirects users through affiliate links when they click internal features like firm profiles and promotional code buttons. According to Kane, the original browser tab is redirected through an affiliate link to the prop firm's website, while the intended page opens in a new tab.
Prop Firm Match responded to the allegations, stating they are "investigating affiliate tracking allegations and will issue a full statement within 24 hours." The platform's affiliate terms prohibit hidden iframe redirects, forced cookies, and other methods of artificially generating referrals.
Major Firms Cut Ties
Following the allegations, several major proprietary trading firms have terminated their relationships with Prop Firm Match. Apex Trader Funding announced on Friday that it had ended its affiliate relationship and disabled all associated tracking codes, citing a review of referral tracking practices and compliance with its Affiliate Marketing Agreement.
We hold all affiliates to clear standards regarding transparency, accurate referral attribution, and responsible marketing practices. Protecting the integrity of our Affiliate Program and ensuring fair, transparent referral practices remain priorities for Apex Trader Funding.
Tradeify and Topstep Also End Partnership
Tradeify also announced it had ended its relationship with Prop Firm Match after finding the platform had breached its affiliate terms. The termination means Prop Firm Match will no longer sponsor the Premier Trading League (PTL).
Topstep has also terminated its arrangement with Prop Firm Match, revealing it had been paying $10,000 per month for a listing, with its highest position reaching sixth place. The firm claimed that the first-place listing costs $100,000 per month. Ending the arrangement will save Topstep $10,000 monthly.
Goat Funded Trader Joins Exodus
Goat Funded Trader has also terminated its affiliate partnership with Prop Firm Match, joining the growing list of firms distancing themselves from the platform. The firm emphasized its commitment to transparency and responsible marketing practices.
We do not compromise on transparency, accurate attribution, or responsible marketing. The integrity of our program comes first. Always.
The alleged redirects have raised questions about how affiliate referrals are attributed and whether the practice complies with the platform's own rules. Prop Firm Match discloses that it earns commissions from prop firm challenge purchases made through its affiliate links and promotional codes.
