Allium restores 18 major chains, but only specific platforms are safe
Blockchain data provider Allium has restored normal delivery across three major cloud platforms following a security incident discovered on October 25.
Blockchain data provider Allium has restored normal delivery across three major cloud platforms following a security incident discovered on October 25. The company reported that specified Snowflake and Databricks tables for 18 major chains, including Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, Base, Arbitrum and Arc, have passed completeness and freshness checks.
Recovery Status
Allium disclosed the incident on October 28, confirming it had identified unauthorized access to certain systems. The company restricted access, notified affected customers directly, and engaged an independent cybersecurity firm to investigate the breach.
Existing API keys are being revoked and users should create replacements unless their Allium contact is issuing one.
User Requirements
Allium's published recovery instructions require users to replace API keys and create new passwords, with multi-factor authentication recommended. The company has temporarily disabled new uploads and access to previously uploaded data, preventing queries that depend on uploaded tables.
While live data delivery has been restored across Snowflake, Databricks and BigQuery, historical backfills continue for parts of the service. BigQuery's historical recovery remains a separate task even for chains that have passed checks on other platforms.
Next Steps
For users conducting historical analysis, confirmation that affected backfills and verification are complete will determine when the recovery is fully settled. Allium attributes any lag in verified_until timestamps to automated re-verification being restored, noting this doesn't indicate missing data.
