Crypto trading software startup Copy Geek pockets $2 million pre-seed - Startup Daily
Sydney-based crypto trading software startup Copy Geek has secured $2 million in pre-seed funding to develop its technology and expand exchange partnerships.
Founded in June 2026 by Bitfinex trader Chris Ji, Copy Geek builds software for professional traders featuring a copy-trading engine that automatically replicates another trader's positions. The non-custodial platform is currently live on Bitfinex, WhiteBIT, Bybit and Hyperliquid exchanges.
Technology Approach
Copy Geek's engine connects to exchanges' existing accounts, software interfaces and order books without requiring additional infrastructure. Copied trades are placed and settled on the exchange where the follower holds their account, addressing the challenge of keeping followers' positions aligned with those of the traders they copy.
Funding and Expansion
The $2 million pre-seed round was led by Dr David Issa and Thomas Boga on behalf of a consortium of Sydney-based private investors. The company pitches its technology as a way for exchanges to attract funded traders and increase trading volumes while reducing customer acquisition costs.
