Third Russia – Africa Summit
The third Russia–Africa Summit opened in Moscow on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Russian President Vladimir Putin and African Union Chairperson Évariste Ndayishimiye.
The summit brings together heads of state and government from across the continent, alongside leaders of Africa’s integration associations. This gathering marks a significant diplomatic effort to deepen ties between Moscow and African nations.
The agenda for the summit is extensive. The participating leaders are set to adopt a final declaration, the next Russia–Africa Partnership Forum Action Plan for 2027–2029, and the Declaration of Cooperation in the Civilian Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies.
Beyond declarations, the summit will focus on practical cooperation. A substantial package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements is expected to be signed, covering a wide range of areas of cooperation between Russia and Africa.
