Jupiter Leads Solana Lending in Five Key Metrics and Expands Its DeFi Product Stack - KuCoin
Jupiter has become Solana's leading lending protocol, ranking first in five key metrics including total deposits of $2.78 billion and $1.12 billion in outstanding loans.
Jupiter Lend has established itself as Solana's leading lending protocol, ranking first in five key metrics: total deposits, total loans, utilization rate, stablecoin deposits, and stablecoin loans. According to Blockworks data, Jupiter's total deposits amount to $2.78 billion with $1.12 billion in outstanding loans, while its competitor Kamino has $2.17 billion in deposits and $855 million in loans.
The gap is even more pronounced in stablecoin lending, with Jupiter holding $1.33 billion in stablecoin deposits and $907 million in stablecoin loans compared to Kamino's $652 million and $532 million respectively. Jupiter's utilization rate reaches 40.34%, slightly higher than Kamino's 39.31%.
Market Response
These figures represent a significant shift in the Solana lending market, where Kamino had previously established itself as the leading credit platform. Despite Jupiter's growing lead, Kamino continues to secure strategic integrations with prominent Solana ecosystem products.
In August 2026, Solana Mobile launched a USDC Earn Vault within its Seeker smartphone's Seed Vault Wallet, allowing users to deposit USDC into Kamino's lending infrastructure. Earlier this year, Solflare also launched its Earn product, enabling users to deposit USDC directly into Kamino's lending market through their wallets.
Expansion Strategy
After securing its leading position in lending, Jupiter has continued expanding its DeFi product stack. The platform recently launched the Jupiter Bridge beta, positioning itself as a "super app." This cross-chain bridge aggregator compares fees from various providers to help users find more competitive routes when transferring assets to and from Solana.
As Jupiter expands from its core DEX aggregator business into lending, wallets, and other products, some observers have questioned whether the team has stretched itself too thin. However, its current dominance in lending challenges these concerns. Jupiter's trading volume share has declined from a peak of 94% in February 2026 to approximately 60% today, facing competition from platforms like GMTrade and Pacifica in the perpetual futures market.
