Wazuh has introduced AI-powered capabilities to improve security operations center workflows, helping analysts process high volumes of alerts more efficiently while maintaining privacy and control.

Artificial Intelligence has become a defining technology across industries, and cybersecurity is no exception. As attackers increasingly use AI to automate cyberattacks, defenders are adopting similar technologies to enhance threat detection and incident response. Security Operations Centers (SOCs) face the challenge of processing millions of security events daily, with analysts spending significant time correlating alerts and determining investigative steps.

Modern SOCs must detect sophisticated threats while managing high alert volumes that contribute to analyst fatigue and increase the risk of overlooking critical events. Investigations often require switching between multiple dashboards, documentation, and threat intelligence feeds before a complete picture emerges. AI-assisted workflows address these challenges by reducing repetitive analysis, adding context, and accelerating decision-making.

Wazuh AI Analyst

Wazuh promotes flexible AI adoption through its AI Analyst service available on the Wazuh Cloud. This automated, hands-off security analysis processes security data through Amazon Bedrock and Anthropic's Claude, delivering insights without manual configuration. The service periodically emails key indicators, endpoint protection histograms, alert volumes, active vulnerabilities, and posture summaries with attached PDF reports.

Reports are generated according to the subscription's schedule and can also be viewed through the Wazuh Cloud console. Privacy is maintained as subscription data is not shared with third parties or used to train AI models; it's processed only for report generation with encrypted transmission, isolated processing, and no permanent storage. AI recommendations remain advisory and should be validated against organizational policies.

External AI Integrations

Beyond the AI Analyst, Wazuh supports self-hosted LLM integrations and externally managed AI solutions tailored to specific needs. For teams with strict privacy requirements, the integration with self-hosted Llama 3 via Ollama keeps all processing within the organization's network. A Python script decompresses archived logs, vectorizes them into a FAISS store, and serves a LangChain-powered chatbot for querying.

For cloud-based AI capabilities, Wazuh integrates with Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Haiku hosted on Amazon Bedrock. This surfaces as a chat box within the dashboard through OpenSearch Assistant, providing guidance on common tasks including remediation actions and configuration settings. Both approaches allow organizations to align AI adoption with their operational, privacy, and data-residency requirements.

Enhanced Security Operations

AI capabilities in modern SOCs reduce repetitive work, accelerate investigations, and provide contextual support for detection, triage, and response activities. These technologies help security teams operate more efficiently while maintaining human oversight for validation and consequential decisions. The integration represents a significant advancement in how security operations can leverage artificial intelligence without compromising control or privacy.
