LilyGo has released the T-Display K230, a handheld development kit featuring Canaan's Kendryte K230 dual-core 64-bit RISC-V processor with AI capabilities.

The T-Display K230 development kit is built around Canaan's Kendryte K230 processor, featuring dual 64-bit RISC-V cores running at 1.6GHz and 800MHz respectively. The device includes a 4.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen display and supports an optional detachable keyboard with battery life extension.

Connectivity options are comprehensive, with WiFi 4, Ethernet, HDMI output, and either an SX1262 or LR2021 LoRa transceiver for long-range communication. The kit also offers optional nRF9151 cellular and GNSS connectivity through LTE-M/NB-IoT networks.

AI capabilities

The development kit includes an AI accelerator KPU supporting INT8 and INT16 operations, compatible with major AI frameworks like TVM, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX. Performance benchmarks show impressive results: Resnet 50 at ≥85fps, Mobilenet_v2 at ≥670fps, and YoloV5S at ≥38fps when running INT8 operations.

Additional specifications include 1GB LPDDR4 RAM, a 2MP camera, and a 2.5D graphics engine. The device is particularly suited for remote monitoring, wireless communication, and other embedded AI applications requiring both processing power and connectivity.
