CF Benchmarks brings Wall Street pricing infrastructure onchain with CFB Oracle - Crypto Briefing
CF Benchmarks has launched CFB Oracle, delivering its market indices directly to blockchain applications through an API with cryptographic verification.
CF Benchmarks, owned by Payward (parent company of Kraken), has launched CFB Oracle to deliver its market indices directly to blockchain applications. The service provides real-time data across crypto, stocks, bonds, commodities and currencies through an API with cryptographic signatures for verification.
The initial rollout covers Ethereum, Ink, HyperEVM and Robinhood Chain, with plans to expand to more EVM-compatible networks. The indices follow the same regulated methodologies used in traditional financial products, including those underlying BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF and CME Group's crypto futures.
Regulated Infrastructure
CF Benchmarks operates under UK Benchmarks Regulation, with over $500 billion in regulated contracts settled using its indices. The company emphasizes that the onchain indices maintain the same oversight as their traditional counterparts.
Market Applications
Target use cases include perpetual futures, prediction markets and lending. The launch connects to a Hyperliquid-powered perpetual futures offering that remains pending regulatory approval. Hyperliquid ranks among leading venues for perpetual futures by volume and open interest.
For DeFi builders, the immediate implication is optionality. Protocols that want to court institutional users now have a price source those institutions already recognize from their ETF and futures desks.
Future Developments
The expansion strategy includes networks within the Payward family, like Ink (Kraken's layer-2), and Robinhood Chain, bringing in a retail brokerage building onchain ambitions. The regulatory approval for Hyperliquid's offering remains a key variable for future implementation.
