Synergy Logic SLM-RP4 – A Raspberry Pi 4 PLC with modular industrial I/O
Synergy Logic has introduced the SLM-RP4, a DIN-rail mountable PLC built around a Raspberry Pi 4 SBC for industrial automation and IIoT applications.
The SLM-RP4 industrial PLC is designed around a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B with 2GB RAM and 16GB microSD storage. It features a fanless aluminum enclosure and supports 24V DC input, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments. The device offers extensive connectivity including Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and multiple USB ports.
Modular I/O Expansion
A key feature is the SPI-based backplane that connects up to eight Synergy Logic I/O modules, providing a total of 128 I/O points. This modular design allows for flexible configuration depending on specific industrial automation requirements.
Programming and Interface
The system comes pre-installed with Raspberry Pi OS and OpenPLC, supporting standard IEC 61131-3 logic programming. For human-machine interfaces, it includes two micro-HDMI outputs and a 3.5mm audio jack, enabling direct connection to displays and audio equipment.
