Forensics Forward brings global digital forensics, cybersecurity and legal experts together for November 10 online symposium [UPDATED] - Send2Press
Seven digital forensics, cybersecurity and legal experts from three continents will convene for a one-day online symposium on November 10, 2026, exploring digital evidence in investigations and legal proceedings.
The symposium, titled Forensics Forward: Cybersecurity, Digital Evidence, and Justice, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET and is co-hosted by digital forensics expert Robert B. Fried and Dr. Pamela Marshall, director of Duquesne University's Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law. Registration costs $25 for students and $180 for professionals.
Expert Presentations
The event will feature seven keynote presentations covering diverse topics including private investigation in Nigeria, video authentication techniques, vehicle forensics, hidden mobile data extraction, artificial intelligence in legal review, financial fraud investigations, and homeland security lessons.
Prof. Adedeji Oyenuga from Lagos State University will open the presentations at 9:30 a.m. ET with a session on private investigation in Nigeria, followed by Simon Biles discussing video authentication issues at 10:30 a.m. ET.
Modern investigations require consideration of a multitude of potential data sources. Bringing together the expertise needed to address those challenges is vital, and that's my goal with this symposium.
Professional Development
The symposium aims to provide valuable insights for digital forensic practitioners, cybersecurity analysts, legal professionals, students, and emerging professionals. Attendees will learn about techniques and challenges encountered in real-world cases and how digital evidence is uncovered and evaluated across disciplines.
Other presentations include Jeffrey Lehn's session on vehicle forensics at 11:30 a.m. ET, Anna Truss discussing evidence in SQLite WAL files at 12:30 p.m. ET, and Andrew Milauskas covering AI tools in Relativity aiR at 1:30 p.m. ET.
Event Partners
Forensics Forward is supported by several industry partners including Page One, Inc., Forensic Focus, and NALI. The event builds on the Cyril H. Wecht Institute's commitment to advancing education at the intersection of science, technology, and justice.
Dr. Pamela Marshall emphasized the importance of understanding both opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technologies in digital forensics. "Forensics Forward reflects the Institute's commitment to advancing education at the intersection of science, technology, and justice," she stated.
Registration for the symposium is now open, with additional event details available on the Duquesne University Bayer School calendar. The event represents a significant opportunity for global collaboration in the rapidly evolving field of digital forensics.
