Adafruit has introduced the Metro ESP32-P4 Hydra, a new Arduino UNO-shaped development board.

The new board includes an Espressif Systems ESP32-P4 chip and an ESP32-C6, offering a mix of high-performance and low-power computing. The ESP32-P4 features a dual-core 32-bit RISC-V HP CPU running at up to 360 MHz with AI instructions and a single-precision FPU. It also has a single RISC-V LP MCU core running at up to 40 MHz with 8KB of zero-wait TCM RAM.

Memory support includes 768 KB HP L2MEM for the dual-core CPU, 32 KB LP SRAM, and 16 MB of PSRAM. The board also contains 16 MB of NOR flash. These specifications make it suitable for complex tasks in HMI, camera, and IoT applications.

Connectivity is provided by the ESP32-C6, which supports WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, Thread, and Zigbee. The board also features a USB 2.0 High-Speed host port, a microSD card slot, and Arduino UNO expansion headers for easy integration with existing projects.

Additional features include Raspberry Pi-compatible MIPI DSI and CSI interfaces, a STEMMA QT connector, and LiPo battery charging. Multiple power input options are available to support different project requirements.
