XRP Takes Over New York City Subway Advertising
XRP advertisements have appeared on subway trains and stations in Manhattan's 42nd Street, coinciding with Ripple's upcoming Swell conference.
Subway cars on Manhattan's 42nd Street now feature large white XRP logos against a black backdrop, along with American flags and the slogan 'Crypto Responsibly'.
The campaign also extends inside the subway cars and the station itself, marking a significant public presence for the cryptocurrency.
Swell Conference Context
The advertising blitz comes at a crucial time for XRP, as Ripple is set to host its premier Swell conference in New York City from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29.
This timing aligns with a broader push to create a unique brand identity in the public domain, following the official launch of the XRP account on Oct. 19.
The account's first tweet simply said: 'Hello, world. It's about time.'
Hackathon and Partnerships
The marketing effort is part of a series of high-profile events in NYC this week, including the AI & Fintech XRP Ledger Hackathon on Oct. 24–25.
The hackathon, organized by XRPL Commons, featured major industry names such as Mastercard, Ledger, Amazon Web Services, and QuickNode.
The subway campaign is not XRP's first foray into mainstream marketing this year, following a multi-year partnership with the University of Kansas in July.
Next Steps
There is currently no official confirmation regarding the financial outlay, length, or extent of the NYC subway marketing campaign.
