Deki Engine – ESP32 gets an open source Unity-style editor and C++ 2D game engine
A new open-source C++ 2D game engine with a Unity-style visual editor has been released for embedded devices, specifically targeting ESP32 platforms.
The project is currently optimized for ESP32 platforms, including the LilyGO T-Deck Plus, T-Display S3 AMOLED, and the Elecrow CrowPanel Advanced 7" ESP32-P4.
It offers a workflow to build scenes visually with sprites, text, particles, tilemaps, state machines, and tweens. Users can select a board in the editor’s Build panel and flash it directly.
The engine runs on desktop through SDL3 or headless with no renderer, and is released under an Apache 2.0 license on GitHub.
Performance and features
