DeFi Giant Uniswap Taps 7 Rival Liquidity Sources to Burn UNI Tokens - Cryptonews.net
DeFi's top DEX protocol Uniswap launched Aggregator Hooks on Oct. 22, 2026, connecting seven external liquidity sources to collect fees from rival trading activity.
The integration spans Ethereum mainnet and Layer 2 networks Base and Robinhood Chain, covering over 90% of decentralized exchange activity. Even when another platform supplies liquidity, Uniswap collects protocol fees, effectively turning rival trading activity into another source of $UNI burn revenue.
Aggregator Integration
"Uniswap v4 is now an aggregator," Uniswap Labs announced Thursday, introducing a system that makes outside liquidity appear as native v4 pools. The technology automatically compares prices across Uniswap and connected exchanges, with trades settling in a single transaction.
The whole route settles in a single transaction, with nothing new to approve.
Token Burn Mechanism
Outside sources become v4 pools, and swaps routed through them pay protocol fees, contributing to $UNI burn.
The arrangement builds on Uniswap's $UNI fication initiative approved in December 2025, which activated protocol fees directed toward $UNI burns. Fees accumulate in TokenJar contracts, while the Firepit system requires $UNI destruction before assets can be withdrawn.
