Stellar Aviation becomes first FBO network to accept cryptocurrency payments - Business Airport International
Stellar Aviation has begun accepting cryptocurrency payments across its FBO network for fuel, services, hangar rentals and ancillary charges, marking an industry first.
The network accepts most major cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Solana, USDC and GiveBack ($GBACK) tokens. Freedom Air, a Part 135 charter operator based in Reno, Nevada, became the first customer to complete an on-chain FBO payment, settling a fuel and services transaction using GiveBack coins on the Solana blockchain at Stellar Aviation's Reno-Tahoe location on October 19.
Industry First
Stellar Aviation operates FBOs in Reno, Nevada; Carson-Tahoe, Nevada; South Palm Beach, Florida; and Springfield, Illinois. The company's decision to embrace cryptocurrency payments reflects a growing trend toward digital asset adoption in aviation services.
As the world's new generation begins its journey into private aviation, Stellar Aviation will be there to welcome them.
Customer Response
A new generation of travelers is coming into private aviation with their wealth on-chain, and we want to be ready to fly them. Stellar made that possible today.
The move has been welcomed by charter operators like Freedom Air, which sees the adoption as a way to serve a new generation of travelers who hold their wealth on-chain.
