Ripple Issues Major XRP Ledger Upgrade to Boost Cross-Border Payments With RLUSD
Ripple has announced a new partnership with global liquidity platform Arf to bring settlement liquidity powered by its stablecoin RLUSD to the XRP Ledger.
The partnership will enable RLUSD to provide liquidity to payment companies while they wait for international transfers to settle, with a repayment period of one to five days. This development is part of Ripple's continued efforts to expand its ecosystem and boost the utility and adoption of its stablecoin.
Solving Capital Lockup
The collaboration addresses a major challenge in the global payments industry where businesses often need to lock up significant amounts of capital across different markets to keep transactions moving.
The partnership requires Arf to provide direct RLUSD settlement liquidity on the XRP Ledger. This way, licensed payment providers can fund transactions without keeping large amounts of capital tied up while waiting for settlements.
Efficient Capital Deployment
With the settlement liquidity operating with a repayment period of just one to five days, the companies can ensure that the same capital is deployed repeatedly as payments are completed, efficiently facilitating stablecoin-powered cross-border payments among firms globally.
