GALAX has launched the GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme, the first graphics card to feature dual 12V-2x6 connectors, a 400W total power target, and a 2,805 MHz boost clock.

The entire higher-end RTX 50 series GPUs feature only a single 12V-2x6 connector, except for some premium RTX 5090 variants. The GeForce RTX 5080 remains somewhat modest in power consumption and only needs about 360W by default.

However, this new RTX 5080 from GALAX seems to provide more than enough headroom so that enthusiasts can experiment with wild overclocking on it. The company has launched the RTX 5080 HOF Extreme with dual 12V-2x6 connectors, each rated at 600W (the second one on the side is optional).

The RTX 5080 HOF Extreme isn't your regular RTX 5080 GPU, but it boasts a premium design that can handle intensive overclocking. Thanks to its extraordinary 20+4 power-phase design, we have incredibly stable power delivery to the GPU.

Advanced Cooling System

Such a power-hungry and overclockable card needs ample cooling to keep the temperatures low at all times, particularly under full load. The card brings the classic HOF cooling design, featuring three 102mm fans on the front and a smaller 92mm fan at the back to rapidly dissipate the heat from the components.

The GPU uses a vapor chamber and eight heat pipes to ensure faster cooling. Plus, we have the Honeywell PTM7950 thermal pad for greater thermal performance, which should allow the card to remain cooler for longer durations.

Aesthetics and Performance

Aesthetically, the card looks beautiful, especially due to the Swarovski crystal accents that distinguish it from conventional GPUs. Out of the box, the card should be noticeably faster than regular RTX 5080s, thanks to the new 400W mode with 2,805 MHz boost clock, but users can switch to the Gaming mode as well that keeps the power target at 360W and a clock speed of 2,655 MHz.

Availability and Pricing

Galax hasn't announced the pricing and availability details yet.
