Dogecoin Labs Wants DOGE to Be More Than a Meme Coin: Here’s How
Dogecoin Labs has launched in partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation to transform DOGE into a versatile digital asset with practical applications.
The oldest meme coin is looking to build a stronger ecosystem as a new organization brings several crucial products and development teams under one roof. Dogecoin Labs has officially launched in partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation in a bid to turn DOGE's large community into a stronger ecosystem of products, applications, and businesses.
Jordan Jefferson, founder of MyDoge and DogeOS, will lead the new organization as CEO. The goal is to make it easier for developers to build with the OG meme coin and give holders more ways to use it beyond holding or trading the token.
Building the Ecosystem
Dogecoin Labs will bring together MyDoge, DogeOS, Such App, as well as product and development teams linked to the Dogecoin Foundation and House of Doge. The official press release stated that Dogecoin remains one of the world's most recognized digital assets with millions of holders, deep liquidity, and an active community, yet the number of apps built specifically around DOGE remains small compared with its audience.
This is the gap that Dogecoin Labs wants to address by connecting developers, users, and merchants through a shared platform.
The organization will focus on products across payments, commerce, wallets, trading, decentralized finance, gaming, artificial intelligence, and social applications. MyDoge and DogeOS will play central roles in that plan.
Technical Development
DogeOS launched its public testnet on September 30 to provide an environment for developers to build and test applications for the crypto asset. It is EVM-compatible, meaning developers can use familiar tools to work on apps across several categories including DeFi, payments, gaming, and digital assets.
MyDoge, meanwhile, connects those applications with an existing user base. Its latest version, MyDoge V3, has rolled out to users in recent weeks. The wallet has grown to more than 500,000 users without paid acquisition, according to the announcement.
Such App adds another part to the plan. Its beta already supports payments in the crypto asset for goods and services, including invoices and in-person QR code payments. The team will join Dogecoin Labs to connect its merchant payment tools to DogeOS, helping to link developers and consumers with businesses willing to accept DOGE.
Market Reaction
The token remained pretty unfazed by the latest development. Over the past 24 hours, DOGE was down by 2.6%. However, analysts see potential for growth. Ali Martinez flagged a TD Sequential buy signal and identified $0.081 as a major support level, noting that around 36 billion changed hands near that price.
The analyst also noted that investors have accumulated 600 million DOGE since October 12. If it manages to close above this support, a rebound could follow. In such a case, he sees a potential move toward $0.16-$0.17. The foundation will continue to oversee its wider ecosystem work, while Dogecoin Labs will focus on building and bringing products to market.
