The $LUPIO token for The Last Worlds: Crossed Souls is coming soon to the Loadout Solana launchpad. Loadout, a platform for indie and AA studios, has listed the game in its 'First Cohort Launches Soon' group. The platform has not yet released details on the token’s economics or a launch date.
The token is currently marked as 'Coming Soon' in the Loadout app, and no contract address has been published. Loadout’s official account on X stated that tokenomics will be released soon. The listing confirms that Lupio Studios is part of Loadout’s first cohort of games to issue a token.
Development and Team
The Last Worlds: Crossed Souls is an open-world action RPG being developed by three brothers in Italy. The studio, named after the game’s companion character, was founded by Matteo Guadagni in June 2026. The team describes the game as a 'Zelda meets Pokémon' experience built over six years.
The brothers, Matteo, Pasquale, and Vittorio, have cited Dragon Quest as their biggest inspiration. They have stated that the game’s design was created without the use of AI. The project is an independent effort, with the team growing up on titles like Zelda, Pokémon, and Monster Hunter.
Kickstarter Success and Demo
The game’s Kickstarter campaign launched on October 1, 2025, and reached its $10,000 goal within 44 hours. It finished at approximately 150% funded, raising around $16,000. Kickstarter selected the campaign as a 'Project We Love' for its success.
A playable demo for the game was released on Steam on September 16, 2025. The demo map takes one to three hours to complete. The studio plans for the final map to be five times larger, offering a 15 to 20-hour experience. If a stretch goal for four extra biomes is reached, the map could grow to 30 to 40 hours.
Backers could choose between a digital copy for $25 or a physical edition for $49. Higher-tier pledges included merchandise and the chance for backers to design in-game items, locations, and pets. Had the campaign hit its $30,000 stretch goal, composer Yuko Komiyama would have joined the project.
Gameplay and Platforms
The Last Worlds: Crossed Souls features two playable characters, Matwin and Lupio. Matwin is the last human, while Lupio is a rare Nessky. Both were born on the alien planet NESS-444 and must discover their origins. Players can swap between them during gameplay.
Lupio is quick and agile, whereas Matwin hits hard and possesses a TimeFlame power that reveals fragments of past events. The game features real-time combat, unlike the turn-based system in Dragon Quest. Players will have access to more than 20 weapons and spells, along with a crafting system for gear.
Lupio Studios is targeting a full release by the end of 2026 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Switch 2 version was confirmed in June 2026, and the original Switch is also planned. Both Switch versions are set to be ported after the PC release.
Loadout Platform Model
Loadout went live on Solana on October 12, 2026, and is led by Kieran Warwick, the co-founder of Illuvium. The platform is aimed at indie and AA studios. Every game token on Loadout has a 5% trading fee, split 4% to the studio treasury and 1% to the protocol.
Once referrals and rebates are paid, 50% of the protocol’s net fee revenue is used to buy back and burn $LOAD, the platform’s own token. Studios must provide a playable demo, design documents, team details, a roadmap, and a funding plan before issuing a token through a bonding curve.
Presales, private rounds, and VC discounts are not permitted on the platform. In mid-October, Loadout paused launches but stated it wanted to get them back up and running as soon as possible. The next scheduled launch is Lo and Behold, a cozy roguelike from Soulcraft Games.
