AnchorWatch Launches Nevada Trust Company, Caps Bitcoin Custody Fees at $10,000 a Month
Bitcoin custody and insurance firm AnchorWatch has launched its Nevada state-chartered trust company, offering qualified custody services with fixed-dollar annual fees and up to $370 million in insurance coverage per client.
The new service is specifically designed for public companies holding Bitcoin, a rapidly growing segment as more corporations add the digital asset to their balance sheets. AnchorWatch Trust Company has been authorized by the Nevada Financial Institutions Division to act as a custodian, providing specialized services for fiduciaries, public companies, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.
Unique Pricing Model
The company's flagship differentiator is its pricing structure, featuring fixed-dollar annual fees tiered by vault size and capped at $10,000 per month. This contrasts with the percentage-of-assets charges typical among qualified custodians. Once clients reach the cap, additional Bitcoin purchases or price appreciation won't increase their annual fees.
For large enterprises, the pricing cap will translate to potential six- or seven-figure annual savings for qualified custody.
Custody and Insurance Options
AnchorWatch offers two qualified-custody models: Flagship Custody, where ATC holds the keys while clients' trustees or executives retain additional keys, and multi-institution custody distributing key control across three institutions. The multi-institution model addresses concentration risk concerns among institutional Bitcoin holders.
Clients may apply for insurance issued in their name, with coverage provided by AnchorWatch and backed by A+ rated Lloyd's of London syndicates. As a Lloyd's Coverholder, AnchorWatch can write up to $370 million in limits per client, covering losses from violent coercion, kidnapping, and fraudulent acts by AnchorWatch itself.
