Valor Energy has acquired an 18MW operational computing center in Youngstown, Ohio, for $3.6 million, planning to convert it into an AI data center.

The Nasdaq-listed firm announced the acquisition of all outstanding equity interests in the company holding the computing center located at 1911 Logan Avenue in Youngstown, Mahoning County. The site sits approximately 50 miles east of Akron and 75 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The existing computing center spans approximately 30,890 sq ft (2,870 sqm) with 18MW of apparent power capacity under a 23kV utility interconnection with Ohio Edison. Valor aims to convert this site into an AI data center, which will require additional design, construction, equipment, and permitting work.

Company Transformation

Valor Energy, formerly known as Senmiao Technology, previously operated automobile transaction and related services businesses in China, including automobile sales, financing, and leasing. The company previously owned the XXTX ride-hailing platform in China but sold the unit in 2024.

The company is now shifting focus to digital infrastructure and has partnered with Elio Energy and Emergence Power on a planned data center project in Duchesne County, Utah. The Utah project could total more than 1.2GW at full build-out, with an initial 100MW powered by gas, solar, and battery storage.
